Golden Treasures Biking Fundraiser – Pedals for Paws
Sonny Keim, Golden Treasures volunteer (foster dad, transporter and fundraiser), is taking a hiatus from his new fundraising event called “Pedals for Paws” this year as he is having his hip replaced in August and won’t be able to ride his bike for the event. Last year Sonny pushed his limits and rode just over 100 miles in the July heat on the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Tow Path Trail.
Luckily for Golden Treasures, three other supporters of the Rescue have stepped up to do the fundraiser this year so that it can continue on in Sonny’s absence – WOW!
This year Paul Lassiter (he rode all 100 miles with Sonny last year!), and John & Cheryl Schlosser (longtime supporters and volunteers) will be aiming for a minimum of 100 miles on their bikes on September 7th at the Holmes County Trail in Millersburg OH.
THANK YOU SO MUCH PAUL, JOHN & CHERYL!!!!!
If you are a past supporter of Pedals for Paws, or the prior event Sonny did called Pars for Paws, we truly appreciate your support! So many of you made donations and pledges last year and it meant so much to Sonny and to Golden Treasures. Each year due to your generosity we are able to help Golden Treasures save more lives and help even more dogs find “fur”ever loving homes!
This year we would appreciate your continued support of the event by making a pledge to the “crew” of Paul, John & Cheryl. You can make a pledge in one of two ways this year:
Make a Flat Donation or Pledge per Mile
- Flat Donation:A flat donation can be made through PayPal or by mailing in your donation, see left
- Pledge Per Mile: Fill out the form to the lower left to make a donation pledge per mile. After the event, you will receive an email indicating how many miles the crew rode and your final donation amount (your amount will based on be the highest number of miles ridden by ONE of the crew members). [Example]: John rides 115 miles, Cheryl rides 100 miles, Paul rides 110 miles --- your donation amount will be based on 115 miles
Golden Treasures Golden Retriever Rescue is an all-volunteer rescue, providing veterinary care, foster homes and permanent new homes for golden retrievers in the Ohio area. We rescue Golden Retrievers wherever we find them
- Owners of Golden Retrievers sometimes have to surrender their dogs because of health, moving, or work schedule. We help find them a new home where they will be loved and nurtured.
- Golden Retrievers that are abandoned or taken to shelters need special attention, and Golden Treasures Rescue will help with medical treatment and re-socialization of each dog into a new home.
Our adoption fee rarely covers the cost of rescuing these wonderful dogs. We may take in a dog that is already spayed/neutered, but the next one that comes in may be heartworm positive. Golden Treasures relies on donations, fundraising activities and grants for its income. We do not receive any state or federal funds. And, because Golden Treasures is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, all donations are tax deductible.
