Temporary change in Adoption Policy

Sadly, with the present situation regarding the COVID-19 restrictions, we need to make a few TEMPORARY  adjustments:
Effective immediately, we are suspending out-of-state adoptions longer than a 3 hour drive from our location in Bath, OH.
We will also be prioritizing the apps that presently have a fence and another dog, due to the fact that the majority of our rescues are Mill Dogs.
If you do not presently have a dog, but have a fence and are seriously willing to adopt a pair, we will also put your application on our priority list.

Please keep in mind, this is a temporary situation, but one we must implement. Our first priority is finding the right forever home for our precious rescues.
We also have to be considerate of those who step up to meet our needs by volunteering.
We are in unchartered territory at this moment and we ask you to be patient as we navigate through the ever-changing restrictions being set by our state to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Emergency Plans for Your Dog

Adoption Process

Once your application is received:

  1. Our first step is to contact your vet(s) for history on current and previous pets.  If that vet check is ok, our adoption team will review your application and contact you for an interview. If all goes well, an attempt will be made to match you to an available dog. Please understand that we are looking to place dogs in forever homes so decisions will be made based on the best fit for the dog and the family.

OUR EMAIL:  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

  1. Once a match is made, you will have an opportunity to talk with the foster family and ask any questions. As most of our dogs are fostered, you will be able to get a very good idea of whether the dog, with its habits, will be a good addition to your life and family.
  2. If all parties agree that the match is a good one, an appointment will be set up for you to meet the dog.  A home visit is also art of our process.  If all goes well, a contract will be signed and your adoption will be complete. If not, an attempt will be made to match you with another dog.

Adoption Fees

Dogs adopted from Golden Treasures need to be treated by a veterinarian before they can be adopted. At the very least, available dogs will have up-to-date vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered and will be given heartworm prevention. Any other medical needs are also addressed.  To help offset the costs of this medical treatment, it is necessary for us to charge an adoption fee. The fees are as follows:

Puppy up to 7 months ($500)
8 months to 3 years ($400)
4-7 years old ($300)
8 years and older ($200)

NOTE: Any dogs we bring over from Turkey are $800, no matter the age.
